Extreme heat is expected to continue across the nation on Monday with temperatures reaching into the 100s across the southern Plains, and possibly in pockets in the Northeast, especially in and around large cities. Heat advisories were posted for the entire state of New Jersey most of Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New York through Monday night, as well as throughout the central Mississippi Valley and the South. In addition to the locations that will see temperatures top 100 degrees on Monday, highs in the 90s will be seen in almost every state from coast to coast.
